Raised in the verdant mountains of Ciales, Puerto Rico, Jowy J. Santiago Miranda is an independent director and cinematographer who studied theater at the Barceloneta School of Fine Arts. Santiago has a Bachelor in Digital Cinematography from Atlantic University and is co-founder of the production company Super 8 Films LLC. To date, he has directed 6 short films, and worked on several feature films and commercials. Segregatio, his most recent short film, is winner of many awards and selections in film festivals. He aspires to cultivate a seed in Puerto Rican film culture, to appreciate local cinema and make it flourish.
